About the reporters
Michelle Wiese Bockmann
Michelle Wiese Bockmann
Michelle Wiese Bockmann is Lloyd’s List’s markets editor, based in London. She has covered shipping in the Americas, Asia and Europe and rates the CMA as one of the best conferences to get a complete snapshot of key developments in the markets, business and regulatory sectors of the global industry.
Michelle began her career in journalism in Adelaide, Australia, working for newspaper, television and radio outlets, before moving to politics, spending several years commuting between Adelaide and Canberra as a media adviser for a federal member of parliament.
She first began writing about shipping after moving to Panama when her partner was posted there as the South American correspondent for ABC Radio back in the 1990s. Her freelance shipping career continued back in Australia (in between looking after newborn twins). In 2000 she moved to the US as the Americas Editor for Fairplay International Shipping Weekly.
Upon returning to Australia, Michelle worked as the state political reporter for national newspaper The Australian for several years. But shipping called once again.
After the family moved to London in 2006, she returned to shipping journalism, joining the Lloyd’s List team in 2007.
This will be the fifth CMA that Michelle has covered while working as a journalist in the international shipping sector.
Michelle will be tweeting, blogging, and filing news from the CMA. Contact her on michelle.bockmann@informa.com or +44 7757 564 413 (mobile)
Rajesh Joshi
Rajesh Joshi
Rajesh is Lloyd’s List’s US Correspondent. An experienced journalist, he has been with the newspaper since the mid-1990s and has been based in the US since 2001. Before this, he functioned for five years as the paper’s Nordic Correspondent, based in Oslo. Collectively, the two postings give him a unique insight on trans-border commerce, which underpins his ability to identify relevant stories in the chaotic world of maritime transport, trade and finance. This will be his ninth CMA conference.
Rajesh will be tweeting, blogging, and filing news from the CMA. Contact him on rajesh.joshi@lloydslist.com
